Incorporated as a nonprofit and operating like a true social enterprise, Mission Edge specializes in fiscal sponsorship, accounting, and HR services. We are dedicated to helping nonprofits scale their organization and ultimately create more positive social change via their missions.

Transforming small businesses

In the Impact Lab we create lasting change by supporting low-to-moderate income earners and people of color with focused CFO expertise so they can use their small businesses as a vehicle for upward socioeconomic mobility.

Our Story

We were founded in 2011 as a response to what our CEO and co-founder Ken Davenport flagged as a fundamental challenge for nonprofits: how to afford quality accounting so that they could better run their organizations. By hiring good accountants on an outsourced basis, the belief was that we could provide strong operational support at an affordable cost, while freeing the nonprofit to focus on what they do best: serving the community. And Mission Edge was born!

Our core accounting practice soon evolved to include Human Resources support and Fiscal Sponsorship. Since then, we have added philanthropically supported programming in the  Impact Lab that helps small business owners who identify as low-to-moderate income earners or people of color grow their businesses and improve their livelihoods.
